Your Data Privacy

At iBoard Repair, our entire business is built on data integrity and absolute privacy. We perform hardware-level data recovery, meaning our focus is on repairing the logic board, not accessing your personal files. We will never sell, share, or broker your data for any reason.

Zero-Knowledge & Data Security

We are hardware specialists, not data handlers. We do not manually browse, view, or analyze your personal files, photos, or messages during the recovery process. The exact security protocols applied to your data depend on the specific hardware constraints of your device and your chosen data delivery method:

  • Physical USB Extractions: When data is successfully extracted to a physical USB drive, the backup is generated and stored in a fully encrypted format. We retain this encrypted backup on our secure local servers for 60 days strictly as a safeguard against mail carrier loss during return shipping. After 60 days, your backup is permanently destroyed.

  • Over-the-Air (iCloud) Recoveries: If Apple’s Stolen Device Protection (SDP) prevents a physical USB extraction, your device is connected to Wi-Fi to push your data directly to your own iCloud account. In these cases, your data passes directly to Apple’s encrypted servers, and no local backup is created or retained at our facility.

  • Privacy-First Motherboard Repair: For zero-knowledge, passcode-free repairs, we restore the hardware to a bootable state without ever bypassing Apple's encryption or knowing your passcode. The device is returned to you so you can perform the extraction privately.

Information We Collect

To facilitate our services, we collect basic contact information (Name, Phone Number, Email, and Return Address). Depending on the recovery method, the secure backup we generate contains the files native to your device, but remains restricted by your device's hardware encryption.

How We Use Your Information

Your personal contact information is used exclusively to provide recovery services, process billing, and communicate diagnostic updates regarding your device. We do not use your information for marketing lists or third-party promotions.

Sharing Your Information

We maintain a strict closed-loop system. We do not share your personal information, contact details, or recovered data with any third-party companies, external labs, or individuals.

Your Rights

You maintain full ownership of your data. You have the right to access, correct, or request the immediate deletion of your personal contact information at any time. If your data was extracted to a physical USB drive and you prefer that we delete our local encrypted backup immediately rather than utilizing the standard 60-day transit window, you may request immediate deletion upon work completion.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in our laboratory practices or legal requirements.
