Customer's Experience: Our customer experienced an unfortunate situation when his iPhone 13 suddenly got hot inside his pocket and would no longer turn on. He visited Apple and a third-party repair shop, but both declared the motherboard dead. With precious memories in the form of pictures at stake, he sought out iPhone data recovery services and found iBoard Repair.
Identifying the Problem: After receiving the phone, we carefully observed the current draw while prompting the phone to boot. This led us to suspect a power rail short on the motherboard, specifically in the NAND power rails. Checking these rails first, we were fortunate enough to identify the problem area.
Locating and Fixing the 2V6 NAND Short with Advanced Microsoldering Techniques: By knowing which line on the motherboard was short and which voltage was safe to inject into the line, we were able to identify the shorted component. We used freeze spray to help identify the shorted component. We safely injected voltage into the line, causing the shorted component to heat up. This allowed us to pinpoint its location and remove it using microsoldering techniques to clear the line.
Successful Data Recovery: With the 2V6 NAND short removed and the motherboard line cleared, the iPhone 13 was able to boot up successfully. We were then able to recover the data for our relieved customer, who was able to retrieve his precious pictures.
